A coincident meeting with a high-schoolmate at Sainsbury's started to fill the dull days of June with activities, while at the same time emptying our pockets. From being uneasy to chatting till late night, going out for movie and having dinner together. He's such a good stimulator for us.
Few days back we went to Wollaton Park. A park that has been so close yet so far to us. Somehow a visit to the park was delayed for almost two years. The only thing that is always vivid in my mind is this castle, which was recorded instantaneously into the brain when I first saw a photo of it somewhere.
So attempted to mimic the photo with a digital camera on a cloudy day.
And for the first time, we witnessed a fight between Papa or Mama swan and a gosling. The parent swan attacked and pecked the gosling viciously with its wings wide open, pulling out several feathers from the tiny body. Despite the smaller sizes of Papa and Mama goose, they attempted to save their child. But because of their smaller sizes, their attempt was of no avail. Instead they got counterattacked by the swans and had to run, leaving few feathers behind. Guess parents do go to the extreme when it comes to protecting their young ones.
Little cygnets are indeed the ugly ducklings.
