Holding Hands

Holding hands ya.. Since young, my parents had been holding my hands whenever we go out. Afraid that i get lost or could not cross the road on my own.. that's what they told me. Well, i didn't really understand it that time and always struggled from their grips when i reached the age of puberty. There was, however, a silly story that happened to me when i was 3~~
I saw a kid, with his hands each held by one of his parents, hanging afloat in the air. Since i had seen it several times, i kinda admired it coz he didn't have to walk himself and seemed to be on a swing. So when i was going out one day with mum and dad, and coincidently, they held my hands that way, and coincidently, that thought came to me.. so i made up my mind, trying to stay afloat in the air but unfortunately, my parents were not that 'cooperative' that when i tried to push myself up, (erm.. how to explain physics ya?) as a reaction, my parents' hands will be pulled downwards if they didn't apply force to allow me to be in equilibrium.. And so, they really didn't~~ and followed the reaction. As i was trying to adjust my legs so that no walking is required, due to the sudden movement, i scratched my right knee... It was bleeding (...of course!!), and mum and dad took me back to my cousin's house to have my injury treated. And so a big bandage was on my knee, and i couldn't walk properly. So in the end, i really didn't have to walk coz dad held me in his arms but for the price that i had to pay, it's not worth it... and it left a scar on me, haih..
Well, i don't really know the meaning of holding hands till i was in form 3. It was sports day and i was on duty as a first aider. But it was kinda funny that i became the first casualty when i couldn't stand the heat and was about to faint. My team leader saw me squatting down and asked me to rest. Since my view was quite blur, she led me to a room by holding my hand. Though she didn't comfort me much on the way i felt so secured. That was the time when i realized that the best way to support someone, especially those you don't know much about them, is to hold their hands.. Perhaps the warmth of humans' palm could calm one down and provide security as well. And because of this incident, i was more determined to be a better first aider.
When i was in form 4, my english teacher asked us to write about something like the things you treasured. So i wrote about... erm.. my essay was terrible that time. He said that he was impressed by a few of my classmates and told the whole class about their essays. I couldn't forget one of the essays by a girl who wrote about the moment she and her sister were holding hands. I was a bit surprised coz i never thought that the things that we treasured could be something from the heart, and she was so sweet, unfortunately, the guys in my class always teased her, haih..
Now, i no longer wanna run away from mum's hand and dad's as well though dad had not been holding bro's and my hands since we had grown up. But mum still does, and i always let h
er to do so coz mum will not be there for me forever.. and i just wish to hold her hands when i still can. No misunderstanding here, mum's perfectly in the pink. Well, don't know why i came out with this, maybe it's because of valentine's day, who knows.. i guess holding hands sure makes the world a better place, the kids know it best..
